These songs are a call to the post-peak-hour, pre-twilight time at a raging party in the woods, where the vibe on the dance floor is still hot and driving, but things are starting to get even more weird. The pre-sunrise costumes start coming out, everyone's a bit deranged from a night full of vivid sensory input, and you're running on your third strong wind of power. This is traditionally one of my favorite parts of any great campout, as the energy is still electric, yet starting to lean toward the bizarre. That cold snap starts hitting your skin, but your movement and dancing keeps you from getting cold. You have those random conversations with people you've never met and would likely not recognize in the morning. The moments at this time of night are beautiful and ephemeral, and this is my musical contribution to their honor.
